Chop Magic Chopper

I love it! Due to horrible pain from arthritis, I cannot hold onions and things to cu them without dropping them. The chopping blades are hard to get really clean but I find using a brush does help.

I purchased this exact same product in the same packaging from a local B&M store (for about $5), and after a year of great use, one of the chopping blades became dislodged. I thought, hey, it's the same price at amazon, might as well just buy another. The one that came from amazon was clearly the same item but lower quality plastics, even lower quality inks on the box (it looked faded). It feels like they must've changed manufacturers or eliminated all quality control. After using the same as the previous item (which lasted a year), this one broke in 2 weeks. I would not buy this again.

The Magic chopper does what is said it would do but it takes a lot more effort to get the onions diced then what you would expect. THe best and easiest way is to cut the onions into 1/4" slices and dice them one slice at a time other wise it takes a lot of down force to get them diced. Some vegetables are easier to slice/ dice then others. When I use it I do a lot at one time and store vegetables in the frig because it a pain to clean this chopper/slicer up, but it does do and excellent job of slicing/dicing.

Get one while you still can, as this model has been discontinued. I purchased this in a store for my mother, after many months of looking for a compact and functional french fry maker. This unit has worked well. Only negative is that due to heavy use over the course of about two years making french fry's at least 3 times a week there has appeared some cracks in the plastic housing around the blades. I didn't think twice before buying two more units to replace hers & one for my wife also.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews! This is a great product as long as you cut your vegetables into smaller peices. I cut my vegetables into thick slices and the chopper cuts into cubes very easily. It cuts the work of dicing in half. I melted mine in the dishwasher, so will be buying another one. Make sure you put on top rack when washing.

Why oh why didn't I believe the reviews! I've liked other products that got bad reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. It was really hard to use and I'm pretty strong! My 74 year old mother-in-law thought I was being a wuss, with a lot of eye rolling and give me a break, until she tried it. It's been 4 hours since then and she's still complaining about how it hurt her arm and shoulder. I know the feeling! My wrist hurts.I also had my 23 year old and 15 year old sons try it with the carrots and no chance. The carrots (in small pieces before we tried to cut them) got lodged in it and it took me 10 minutes to pick them all out. A q-tip worked the best to get them out as the ends of my spoons and forks were too large.Cucumbers came out pretty nice. Tomatoes were pulverized. Red peppers held up well but took some serious strength. Hard-boiled eggs were super easy (no surprise there) and my avocado got mushed. That's all I was willing to try before I gave up. The only reason I'm giving it a two is because at least i can use it for eggs. Perfect size for egg salad. :)

Item was delivered on time as promised and product looked & was packaged as expected/advertised. I can't comment on the quality since this was a gift for a Christmas party game but it was popular enough that it was stolen in the game by others so many times that it "froze". If you aren't familiar with the Christmas game, it means it was a big hit and everyone wanted it for themselves.

My wife and I have tried several different kinds of choppers over the years to always end up going back to doing the chopping and dicing by hand, which is a tedious task to say the least. Close friends told up about this gem of a chopper and my wife and I are so happy with this Magic Chopper and recommend it to anyone.Awesome product...
