Works great!
I used to think of this as an "old ladies" cleanser, but I thought I would give it a go after seeing a mid-life YouTube influencer recommend it, especially because it's not expensive. I am in my 50s, so maybe it's appropriate now? Anyway, I LOVE this cleanser! It reminds me of a cleanser I once used back in the 80s by a certain female boss lady from Texas. I've never used this type of cleanser since then, but I have to say I am really liking it.You only need a very small amount. I wear pretty heavy eye makeup and it removes it all. It's quick and easy to use and not drying. It feels super oily when you first apply it, but after you rinse it off all you have is soft, clean skin. It's the first part of my evening routine, followed by a Retinol serum and night moisturizer. Some people have mentioned that they don't like the scent, but I don't mind it. The fragrance kind of reminds me of a baby product. Also, it's not strong and you can't smell it at all after you rinse it off. I'm pretty sensitive to scents so if this was an issue I would definitely not recommend it.

Melt Make up and Dry Skin Dream
Note: This product is designed to be used on dry skin, do not wet your face before use, it will not be an effective treatment on wet skin.I want to preface this review with my skin type. I am extremely dry skinned with very sensitive skin. I often cannot put on any setting power or I will have flakey skin, that's how dry I am.I bought this over a month ago to start a double cleanse system (Used along side Simple Sensitive hydroboost gel) because I wanted a better mosturized skin clean routine. One of the major ingredients is Mineral Oil, an old ingredient good for cleaning and locking in mosture. My complexion and elasticity is back in my face, it no longer feels tight even in extremely dry condition. My face always feel clean and smooth throughout the day instead of dry and flakey aince uaing this product. The best part...it takes my makeup off with the first cleanse. You heard me right, first cleanse. You hear people claim their makeup remover melts your make up off? This actually removes makeup instantly. I do not need to scrub or pull my skin, the oil does all of the work.

Love this stuff!
This is the only product I use for removing my makeup! It is so creamy and just a little goes a very long way! It feels greasy as you work it into your skin, but it washes off very nicely with a washcloth and leaves your skin soft. To remove mascara I rub it along my lashes for about 10 seconds and then remove thoroughly with a wash cloth before opening my eyes. Make sure you do this because it will hurt if it gets in your eyes! The smell is hard to explain. The best way I can put it is that it is a very strong subtle smell. I try not to take deep breathes while applying it. I know these may seem like drawbacks, but really this product is amazing at removing makeup! It is kind to my sensitive skin and it removes makeup better than any other product I have ever used! Definitely recommend!

A budget beauty gem if you can handle the scent
Two-step cleansing is all the rage nowadays and this balm is a-m-a-zing at it. Melts all the grease and gunk away from my face without irritation or me needing to pull and tug on my skin, getting my face ready for the rinse-off cleanser step. This is by far the cheapest balm cleanser on the market and is much more effective than some of its other more expensive alternatives. The catch?Be ready to smell like your great-aunt Edna AKA the classic Ponds Cold Cream smell.

Melts away ALL makeup - BEST CLEANSING BALM I HAVE EVER FOUND
As someone who applies a THICK layer of sunscreen every day and mascara/tinted moisturizer/powder most days, I wanted to have a cleansing balm that would take all that off. I've always liked the Cold Cream made by Pond's and I feel like this is just the same thing in a sheerer and hydrating way. I will say, I do have relatively dry skin so the intense moisture the balm held wasn't an issue for me but if you have oily skin I would prepare for initial breakouts after the first few uses. Also, YOU GET A LOT FOR YOUR MONEY. You literally just need a pea-sized amount of balm (maybe even less depending on how much makeup you're wearing) and it can melt away a full face, plus the fact that it doesn't have any strong fragrance like other cleansing balms makes it good for my sensitive and dry skin.

Best maekup remover I've ever used
The product is WONDERFUL! Removes even waterproof makeup easily. However, it is my understanding the company is discontinuing it. Makes no sense to keep that nasty old Ponds face cream from the 50's. Nobody and get rid of this. Nobody still alive uses the old pink Ponds cold cream., Besides it smells horrible1 This really has no smell. But it literally dissolves the makeup from your skin!

Disappointed with most recent purchase
The media could not be loaded. I’ve used this product before, last year, out of nostalgia for the old Pond’s Cold Cream that I remember my mother using, and I really liked this updated version. I ordered this jar on March 5th of this year, received it in a timely manner, but imagine my surprise when I opened the jar and it spilled over the opening. It’s very thin, barely even a lotion and certainly not a “cold cream balm.” I don’t know what’s going on with it. I might have thought that it just got left out too long in my mailbox, and yes, this is Florida, but it simply hasn’t been that warm yet. If this product needs to be kept cool, then it should be shipped with cold packs. I’m not returning it because it still does a fine job of cleansing, but I’m disappointed.

Great value and compares well to high priced cleansing balms
I was looking for a lower cost alternative to my fancy spa quality cleansing balm and read reviews of Ponds that impressed me. I recall Ponds as something from my mother's dressing table in the 60's and new that it had a good reputation. I was absolutely delighted when I received the cleansing balm - with a label that can be easily removed to keep on your counter or shower and look great. It cleanses like my fancy balm and takes off all of my makeup cleanly. I use a soft cloth to remove it (love my "Makeup Eraser" for this). I always follow up with a foaming cleanser but you could forgo that second step easily with this moisturizing balm. Love it.
