Pool Mate 351840RPM Winter Pool Cover, Heavy-Duty Blue, 18 x 40 ft Inground Pools

Works really well for my oddball curvy shaped pool. Just had to get one large enough for the longest length. I've used water bags in the past with another cover (that fell apart after one summer), and the bags didn't last much longer than the other cover under the hot Vegas sun. Instead, I used some old 2x6x16 boards with some bricks on top, as we get almost hurricane force winds here occasionally.

Pool cover is pretty good. It is really large for my pool but it does the job. Also please note that the weights shown in the picture aren't provided just the pool cover!

So far this pool cover is doing its job. It covers the pool. It’s probably thinner than a standard blue plastic tarp from the hardware store, but it hasn’t ripped yet, and it is keeping the leaves out of the pool. It may not be robust enough for more than one winter, but so far so good.

This cover was listed as a 10-year warranty cover. Mine did not last one season. I covered my pool in September and within a few months, there were small holes popping up, which became slits that grew and grew into large holes big enough to fit a basketball through. In May, I was afraid to use my sump pump to drain the water that collected over the winter, but luckily it did not puncture or create another hole when using the pump. Thankfully, Amazon gave me a full refund although I did have to pay my own return shipping, even as a Prime customer. I will not be purchasing another Pool Mate cover.

I was using this cover to cover my pool during long off season. This cover does not allow rain to get through and when it rains water just accumulates on top and because of water weight on top it rips through the secured screws on cover. I have a wood deck around my pool so I am able to secure it down well using outdoor screws; however, any accumulation of rain on top will rip the cover from off from my deck screws.

For 23 years we had an expensive mesh cover for our inground pool, complete with a strap system that went into the concrete. It was a top of the line cover that degraded over time. But even when it was in decent shape my pool was ALWAYS DIRTY in the spring, filthy dirty in fact! It would take two weeks to clean and filter that pool, TONS of chemicals to get it balanced, etc. I would have to take out the filter grids a couple of times and clean them of the filth and algae. It was nuts.Last year my husband finally talked me into throwing that old cover out and we bought this pool cover because economically we didn't have the funds to buy a system similar to our old expensive one. THANK GOODNESS we didn't waste the money!! This cover system is PERFECT!!! We opened the pool today after the first winter with this cover and we were shocked - literally shocked!! The pool water was picture perfect, just like it was the day we closed it. We literally could swim in it today. It's mind blowing.Don't hesitate to buy this cover. It lasted through the winter just fine. We bought a submersible pump that we used to remove any water from the top of the cover whenever it built up over the winter, and that was simple as well. This cover saved me more time and money and effort than I can adequately explain. GREAT value. Thank you!

On my second winter with this cover and it still remains unbroken, seals my pool away from the elements and saves me so much work. I shock pool and circulate right before putting cover on for the winter. When I pulled this thing off last year the pool was crystal clear underneath exactly as I left it. You do need a submersible pump or some method to drain the water off the top of this thing when you are ready to pull it off. Also need water weights to hold the sides down. While it is not required I definitely recommend a leaf net to go on top of this guy, otherwise at the end of the winter when you go to pull this cover off you are going to be fighting with about 300lbs of wet leaves with no real way to separate them from the water without getting it all in the pool. I learned the hard way last summer!

I don’t think this will last very long, but it was fairly priced. I’m hoping to get 3 seasons out of it, but it is very thin and I think I will see rips by next year

Great pool cover. Little large but I have odd shaped pool. Would rather have vinyl that fits in coping but not available right now

I bought this 16x32 foot cover for my inground pool along with almost $300 of water tubes and a pool cover pump in Sept 2020. I covered my pool at the end of the season and pumped the water off the top weekly until winter set in. Well, come March and the thaw the cover had lost 6 of its straps that you secure it with using the water tubes. They just ripped right off. I had only dropped the water in the pool a foot and a half for the winter so it's not like there was tremendous stress on those straps.I went to submit my warranty claim only to find you need to register your warranty with them within 30 days of purchasing. I now have a new camping tarp I guess.
