Q: I'm confused. this splitter should have pwm control. i plugged in 3 pcs 3-pin fans but my motherboard doesn't detect it as pwm. cannot control it.

In order for it to work you have to have 4 pin fans plugged into it. Plugged 3 pins into it doesn't make them able to receive a PWM (pulse width modulated) signal just because the connector on the MB has 4 pins

no, it will try to spin each fan at the same speed but since you will be using a lot of different fans with different amp/voltage ratings, they will all spin at different speeds except for fans of the same make and model. Usually people buy these to run a whole bunch of the same type of fans on a radiator off of only one pwm on their motherboard.

Yes there is. Method 1. If your motherboard has a fan control suite/software you can do it that way. I used to use this method but it was always running at full blast by my choice because my system was overclocked and hot. 2nd. The method i use now. Speedfan software. You program it and then your fan speeds are automatic depending on your temps. I have 7 fand and I'm running quietly at idle right now

When I tried using this it ran all fans at 100% all the time. I tried to figure out how to low the speed and couldn't get it to work the way I wanted it to.
