The ring holder is plastic and somewhat flexible. It should work just fine. It makes a lovely and very impressive presentation!

It should fit any size ring there is a plastic clip on the inside that expands, I put a size 6 and it worked great

Yes, suitable for size 3 ring! The ring size suitable for this ring box is up to 18mm in diameter

Q: so any special way to put ring in? the ring is a little wider ( not much) and it will not stay in. is the clip broken?

Clip acts like a ‘C’ clamp. I have a size 5 ring that clipped inside the ‘C’ shape. So align ring with plastic and gently apply pressure. ‘C’ will separate slightly allowing ring to fall in place.
