Excellent product and value
We live in Arizona where the heat is so excessive from May through September that without AC I think there would be more heat related deaths. Still, it manages to get through windows and doors even with several layers of curtains. This fabric provided instant results. Literally instant, when I installed a panel I cut to cover a glass patio door. I could not be happier. This is an affordable option to cover multiple windows during the hottest time of summer days. I highly recommend. It's lightweight, easy to clip to existing curtains with simple clothes pins, and is easy to cut without having to sew hems and finish off seams.

Good for travel (thin, light), true black-out
Yes the fabric is thin and plastic-y, a bit thicker than a plastic tablecloth. But that works for us since we use this for travel with our baby. It folds up extremely small and it's really light. We bring some thumbtacks and painters tape, and it blocks out 100% of the light.

Good price and effect, black can come off
I adhered this with some gorilla glue spray adhesive to some reflective insulation foil to make blackout window covers for my car. They worked fine and absorb a lot of light, if you are surrounded by this stuff you wouldn't know if it was day or night. The only negative I have is that the material is a bit thin (not such a bad thing), and the black can come off if exposed to chemicals. In my case a bit of the spray adhesive got on it and the black color came off of the silver base material. Not likely going to be much of a problem for most people, but it makes me wonder if it could come off easily if rubbed on anything or something like that.

Definitely blocks the light
The fabric is thin and plastic but definitely blocks the light.

Material like foil: very thin and fragile.
Material is very efficient blocking light but very thin and like a foil. My understanding is that this material actually is a film, foil. It is not a real fabric. It is easy to break.

Great for vacation rental blackouts for kids
We have a ton of kids. So when we go on vacation and they’re already not in their regular bedroom, getting them to sleep past sunrise is essential for us as parents to enjoy our vacation. We purchased these to cover the windows in the rental house we were staying in. Combine them with double-sided tape or 3M command strips and you have a quick solution that helps keep out the sunlight in the wee hours of the morning. Easy to cut and put into place.

Great For Blocking Light And Very Lightweight
I needed material to be able to control sunlight coming through some photo studio windows but really didn't want to worry about getting bulky and expensive duvatine for the purpose. I found this fabric and has worked amazingly well. As other reviews have mentioned, it feels a lot like a tent fabric would feel but there is no ripstop. It is extremely lightweight, folds up into a very thin package but it completely blocks bright sunlight with zero issues! I only need it for occasional use and installed grommets in it to make it quick and easy to hang. Putting the grommets in caused no damage and the material itself has held up perfectly around the grommets while hanging. If I need to take some of this on location, I can carry it easily in a camera bag with how light and thin it is when folded up. Much easier than hauling around a blanket-like material. It's a bargain for the price.

4.5 stars.
Honestly more like 4.5 stars. Unfortunately that’s not an option so I gave it 4.This material is LOUD it’s best described as a tent; thick, loud, and durable. As other reviews stated there are a few spots in this fabric that are noticeably thinner then the rest, therefore letting light in and not completely blackout as described. However this doesn’t really bother me as it’s very tiny tiny tiny holes and only on one curtain in one spot. I sowed a thin satin onto the front, and can barely notice the holes, honestly if I didn’t point them out, I doubt anyone would really take notice either. This is marked as “frequently returned” I’m not sure why, I don’t think it deserves that at all.I’m relatively happy with this I made 2 sets of curtains using a thin satin sown onto the front for aesthetic purposes, and I love them.I ordered another 5 yards of this to make another set. I would say it was definitely worth the money spent.
