Q: What is the difference between the 24.0 and 24.0W9? We need a filter for the Dell 24" U2412H

W is for Widescreen, those are generally shorter in height but diagonally it would still be 24" opposing corner to corner.

Q: How does it attach to the monitor?

It comes with clear double sided tape that you place on the inside outer edges that stick it to the screen. The tape is more tacky, than sticky. the screen stays put quite well and the tape isn't noticeable at all.

Q: does it help reduce eye strain?

I'm not sure as I'm staring at my computer 12 hours a day and get eyestrain anyway : ). However, it does seem to have helped a bit and it works great for keeping anyone from seeing my work. As mentioned by other purchasers though, you have to remember that if someone is directly in line with the monitor, as you are when working at the computer, they can see your screen. It's only from the sides that a person is prevented from viewing. That's what I needed and wanted but I remember some people expected it to not be seen at all, which would be impossible or you wouldn't be able to see either !!
