It works well and Restores Metal
I used a cleaner on one spot of my stainless steel refrigerator and stripped a coat off. I bought the 3M Metal Restorer and it brought back the shine. I did have to put in on several times to bring back the stainless steel shine but this product is wonderful and it works. A must have around the house m.

Worked perfectly on restoring a damaged sink
Someone in my house tried to clean my stainless steel sink with toilet bowl cleaner and it left it badly stained. I read a few of the reviews on this and thought I would give it a shot. I have a triple sink and after working on it for about an hour with a lot of elbow grease I got ride of most of the discoloration. I worked on it for another hour and the sink is pretty much back to normal. I am going to keep working on it as time permits but this is a really good product. I was worried that I was going to have to replace a very expensive sink that is mounted below quartzite countertops. I wouldn't worry about the price of the product it worked wonders. You don't have to use a lot , use it sparingly and keep changing rags. It's kind of like polishing silver or brass. It actually gives it a nice shine after you are done.

This does the job on salt water stains but bring your elbow grease.
Has done a really great job on saltwater stains on my boat's stainless steel steering wheel. Wish I had started sooner. It does take a lot of rubbing and care with trapping compound in seams. But it works when simply cleaning did has not.

Works and worth the money
Do you know what happens to a stainless steel sink if you pour sulphuric acid in it? I do! Had a bad sink clog and poured the acid product into the drain. However, it backed up and filled the sink with gross sink stuff and the acid. After the plumber cleared the clog I saw that my sink was ruined. Or so I thought. I tried five items on the market with no success. The sink was splattered with dark spots and was as dull as dirt, looking matte grey. I read about 3M’s marine metal polish and restorer and bought it. $45 was a hefty price for a polish but my uniquely shaped sink was going to cost more than $2,000 to replace! Today it took me two hours of applying, scrubbing and buffing with a dry towel but—my sink looks brand new. I won’t lie—it took lots of elbow grease and effort—but the end result is amazing.

This product actually works!
This product actually works! I have a new house and for some reason my stainless steel sink was stained and nothing worked. I ordered this product and was a little skeptical but I thought I could return the product if it did not work. Well it really does work, takes a little elbow grease, but the stains are gone. My sink looks gorgeous, stain free, and shines!

Outstanding Product total satisfaction
I bought this 3M heavy duty polish to remove oxidation from aluminum trim pieces on my 2001 e46 BMW. I went with 3M thinking it was the best product for my situation. It removed all of the oxidation stains from 22 year old trim and brought a shiny luster back that I didn't even know existed. The key here is how you apply this paste. I highly recommend using an oscillating power tool like I did with a buffing pad specifically designed for the task. Or an orbital polisher could work as well also. Bottom line, this paste exceeded my expectations, it removed all oxidation and brought the trim surface to a very high grade shine, just remember the key here I think, is don't just do your restoration project by hand only. Use a power tool, save time and the results will be outstanding. Thanks 3M.

Okay.
It’s possible I’m using this outside of intended use- but this was pitched to me as a way to remove scratches from stainless steel. I had some not so deep scratches in my stainless steel sink caused by a scotchbrite pad. This did not remove those scratches whatsoever but did provide a great shine. There are cheaper products that do that as well- however. So if you’re looking for scratch coverup— this ain’t it.
