Full germination!
Strong germination! Used high quality peat moss to cover the seeds. Not sure why people have trouble germination with these. Probably not enough water or moisture retention. Or time of year…I recommend putting seed in water bucket for a week before planting. Drain and mix seeds with high quality fine peat moss and spread. Add a thin layer of peat moss to ensure seeds are covered. Required minor daily watering.Location South Carolina March weather.Could probably not pre germinate with a good coat of peat moss, but doing the bucket pre germinate helps reduce water usage. Photo of germinating after a week planted.

Didnt grow
No matter what we did - 60% of the grass wouldn't grow. It would only grow in small patches in odd places. We even tried using fertilized soil from the big box stores to help, no joy. Very expensive seed for no results. Very Disappointed.

Low germination rate, weak seedlings that do not grow roots after multiple attempts
I have spent $600 on 200 pounds of Barenbrug RTF in Raleigh, NC. I did everything I was supposed to do - I tested my soil. I aerated. I put down organic nutrients. I covered the seed with a thin layer of compost. I did irrigation like clockwork. The germination rate was maybe 50% each time. The grass would start off with thin shoots, and the roots would simply grow to one inch, no more. Slowly the grass would wither to become brown shreds. Other fescues in my yard are growing fine. Barenbrug needs to make this right, because this seed is hot garbage.

It works well but its not a miracle product
I bought this seed because I wanted a fescue that would be self-repairing. My sprinklers don't hit every part of my lawn perfectly and every year I get large dead spots in 4 locations on my lawn. Last fall I prepped the spots, seeded and top dressed. Watered regularly. Seeds germinated in about a week and was mowing in about 2.5 weeks. A year later, my dead spots are about 75% smaller than they had been every other year at this time, so I'd say it works. But it's not a miracle product. Still need to water, aerate and fertilize. Will buy again. But I'll be mixing in some bluegrass for some wider blades because this stuff is more fine than I expected it to be.

I purchased this several times
I use this for annual reseeding on my vacant building lot. The RTF and insect resistance is helpful.
