This ain't no Tuna fish.
If you like films with sharks in them, your going to like this one. It's awesome and you have to take my word for it. It was delivered to me on time and I know that the people involved in getting it delivered to me are brilliant at what they do. The price for this is even better, it's amazing!

âJust stay in the cage.â [Kate]
This 2012 suspense adventure movie follows marine biologist Kate Mathieson [Halle Berry] and her husband Jeff [Olivier Martinez] as they set about filming Kate free-swimming with sharkâ off South Africa. Naturally it all goes wrong and a year later Kate has separated from hubby and her tour business is failing with her ship close to sinking. With the banks about to shut her down, Jeff comes to the rescue with a wealthy client and an offer he hopes she cannot refuse. But can she overcome her nerves or will the reckless customer cause another accident? The single disc opens to a main menu offering play, scene selection and set-up [2.0 or 5.1]. Choose 5.1 if you can, it gives the underwater sequences more of a scary edge. The film is by no means fast paced, in fact it plods for the first third as it builds the characters and their background. But stick with it, this is more a film about character development, the unpredictability of nature and stunning underwater sequences above all else, which some may find a bit too âNational Geographicâ for their tastes, but the tension builds in the middle and unleashes its full force in the final third. Not an outstanding film, it is entertaining in an evening matinee way and the tension and end sequences are nail biting, but its no Jaws or horror, itâs just very suspenseful. Deserving a bit more than a *** this is a decent **** evening TV movie.

Halle Berry On Form But That's Pretty Much It
This movie is very mismatched.I went into Dark Tide having medium level expectations and I was left disappointed. If you're expecting plenty of B-movie shark action, you will be sorely disappointed. I wouldn't call this a shark movie given the sharks take a back seat to people drama and even there it fails to deliver. Part National Geographic presentation and part sub-par movie, Halle Berry's talent is wasted. As Kate, a failing dive boat operator, she brings a depth to her character but the same can't be said for the other 2D characters. Tommy is a somewhat fun character, but neither Kate nor Tommy can save this sinker. The plot feels thread bare and clutching at story elements, trying to be a scary movie when it just isn't.After plodding along at a slow pace pretty much the entire movie, including a diving subplot that goes nowhere, the ending feels rushed and way more exciting than the rest of the movie combined. In all honesty the ending could have been spun into a movie of its own and upped the tension that never gets chance to build. In the movie's favour you do have Halle Berry doing her very best with what she's been given and I enjoyed the cinematography of the seals and sharks, though the main seals scene does pad out the movie after a while. It is obvious when it is being used as filler rather than plot elements. With the right execution, a better title and not promoted as an outright shark horror movie, Dark Tide could have been a brilliant movie. For Halle Berry fans, absolutely watch this movie because she's on form. Shark movie fans, you might want to skip this one. For a shark movie, you're not getting your money's worth.

Don't waste your time!
Absolutely terrible movie, there was a total of 2 shark attacks, at the beginning of this movie, three if you count the one where it's so dark you can only see a guy's face, barely and some underwater flashlights, 4 if you count the one where the shark eats a dead guys leg off, but he had already died from hypothermia at the very end of the movie. Most of the movie is a bad relationship drama about two people, Kate and Jeff who are married but separated, continually having a spat about something I don't even think they remember, but they spend most of the movie arguing and shouting at each other and those around them. Then there is Rich Jerk, who is a terrible father and a jerk to everyone who has less money than him and completely dismisses Kate's rules she has to keep them safe. Kate gets so worked up about rich dude that against all her apparent intelligence decides to sail into a storm, with bigger and meaner sharks, despite the rich guy willing to risk people's lives because he paid them money. This movie features some of the worst plotlines and the actors appeared to be confused about what this plot was.

Tense and thrilling
Great film. Enjoyable storyline, not just killer sharks all the time. Lots of real footage of marine life. It was tense and thrilling, especially when they go to choppier waters to chase the big sharks. This film is mainly about the relationships between characters rather than shark attacks, but there is lots of tense shark footage and there are some attacks and a good soundtrack to set the tone. Not sure about the ending though, thought the main character Kate would show more remorse, won't say anymore as don't want to reveal a spoiler, that's why I rated 4 rather than 5 stars. I would definitely recommend this film!
