I’ve been using charging cases for a few years but none compare to this one. It’s really easy to handle, protects the phone well and the long press activation mode prevents you from accidentally launching the charge function. The biggest surprise was that despite saying it’s not compatible with CarPlay functionality, mine actually works incredibly well which might just be a stroke of luck but only adds to how much I love this case.

This charging case is not the most elegant looking item but most people will not be using it as a day to day case but rather as a temporary case whilst travelling or camping, so this can be forgiven. It’s pretty chunky and due to the positioning of the camera lenses the weight is concentrated in the bottom two thirds of the case. It is a shame it doesn’t support wireless charging - and also blocks wireless charging of the phone itself - but not the end of the world for a case only being used on trips.I’m not a great fan of how you have to slide your phone in, there is a soft material backing inside the case but this does not extend up the sides. Even with this ‘protective’ material should any detritus make its way into the case there is still a risk of scratching the phone whilst fitting. I would recommend fitting this case once before setting off and then leave it fitted until you no longer require it.In theory this case should add somewhere between 1.5 to 2 times to the battery life of the phone and so far it seems to be, however I have my doubts whether the internal battery will have sufficient longevity for frequent use as it utilises Li-polymer cells which are less power dense and degrade more rapidly than more common Li-ion. They are in theory more robust so swings and roundabouts. Only time will tell whether this was the best choice and I will update this review if I see any premature capacity drop, so in that respect the jury is still out.At £30 at time of review if the battery in this case lasts long enough without too much degradation the price is fair.

I got this case because I liked the idea of adding both extra protection to the phone and additional power capacity at the same time. It does fulfil both of those requirements.The case is something of a hybrid with a rubberised top third and the remainder is hard plastic. This allows the top to be folded out of the way when inserting or removing the phone so that it slides directly onto the USB-c charge port at the bottom of the case. The lower, hard plastic, section has aligning to prevent abrasion on the phone. A screen protector was also included, but I decided not to make use of it.The case was easy to put on, seems to provide good protection and does not add greatly to the bulk of the phone. However, I can’t help feeling that it does substantially detract from the sleek and stylish look of the iPhone. That is not really a criticism, but I think an inevitable result of the additional functionality.Once in place, the case does not need to be removed again because data transfer and charging of both the phone and additional battery pack take place through the port on the bottom of the case. The port can also output power so you can transfer some to another device if required.The information that comes with the phone could do with updating because it refers to a lightening plug and not USB port. There is also a caution note on the inside of the case which says it should only be charged with the Apple original charger and cable, even though a USB cable is included!

The case itself is surprisingly slim considering the battery capacity.It adds minimal bulk to my phone and slips easily into my pocket or bag. The grip is nice and secure, preventing accidental drops. The blue colour is a nice change from the usual black or white, and it feels well-made overall.  However, there are a couple of downsides. The case can get a bit warm during charging, especially if I'm using my phone while it's charging. The buttons on the case also feel a little stiff, requiring a bit more force to press compared to the phone's buttons.Overall, this battery case is a good option for those who need extra juice on the go. It's not perfect, but the added battery life and fast charging outweigh the minor flaws. It's definitely worth considering if you're looking for a way to keep your iPhone charged throughout the day.

This is a good to have on longer days / nights out without carrying a power bank, gives my iPhone the boost to ensure I don't run low on battery. The case clearly indicates how much battery it has left and can be turned on with the power button on the back.As you'd expect it is quite bulky so can be difficult to put in my trouser pockets. Would recommend if you are a heavy phone user and don't want to carry a power bank around.
