Fantastic
Honestly, I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn, so much more than is in the movies. I can't really say more because I am utterly rubbish at doing synopsis/summary type things. I end up detailing everything because to me it's all important. Can't just skip over stuff, you know?Anyway.Worth adding to your bookshelf.

"Spared no expense!" (Hires one college graduate to set-up, look after the park's computers).
After reading this book, I felt a strange satisfaction from experiencing the source material of one of my all-time favourite movies. I'm not a particularly avid reader but, like many others, I felt compelled to see how the movie was translated for better or worse. And I'm left feeling positive-to-mixed. What I didn't expect was that the screenplay for the movie actually does a fantastic job of improving on many aspects of this novel, and yet in some cases falls a little flat. The motivation behind all this is that the novel, written by an intelligent fellow with a fantastic background and knowledge of medical sciences, writes in an almost documentary fashion at times. The story is written primarily for adults and, as such, there are more mature themes driving the story along - the bio-tech companies battling for ownership of DNA, and the actual science science behind Jurassic Park itself. It takes a bit of patience to get your head around these scenes and chapters, but it is interesting none the less.Furthermore, the novel skews pure entertainment for thrills and tension. There is a broader story arc behind Jurassic Park's inception and the lasting effects it has on the surrounding areas. The characters are a little more genre-specific (Dr. Grant is barrelled chested, has a beard and is quite a grisly explorer!) and their actual development is nowhere near as fleshed out as in the movie. For me, this is where Speilberg really got the film right. Its tone is very different; it's more family-friendly, the characters have more depth and the pacing is near perfect. My favourite aspect of the novel is, actually, realising just how perfectly cast the movie is. In particular, Jeff Goldblum (who you can never imagine acting any other way) as Malcolm was a masterstroke. In other instances, the casting improves on the novel's depictions by a wide margin. This is not to say that the novel is in anyway inferior, but simply a different - original - take on the work.So if you enjoyed the movie, just keep an open mind and prepare yourself for a significantly more fleshed out, gory and wild ride of a story!

Brilliant books
I never really wad much of a reader growing up but I thought to myself I want to try reading so I got these books and really enjoyed them. I had already seen the movies so I now what was going to happen but I loved the way it went into so much more detail about the events than the movies
