🔗 Stick with the best: Heavy-duty strength meets invisible finesse!
3M VHB 4910 is a 0.75 in. x 15 ft. transparent double-sided acrylic tape designed for heavy-duty mounting without drilling or screws. It offers permanent, stress-distributing adhesion that resists UV, moisture, chemicals, and extreme temperatures, making it ideal for bonding glass, signs, and other materials with a clean, invisible finish.

Invisibly seals cork tiles to glass and other cork
I used strips of this to adhere 3/16" cork tiles to glass to cover up a heat mat on the exterior side of a vivarium, and to insulate the glass. Despite the cork tiles shedding nonstop powdery cork dust/debris, the strips of tape stuck magnificently along the lengths of the cork tiles and onto the glass and plastic of the heat mat. I doubled up the cork tiles layer for extra insulation and this even stuck one cork tile back to back with another. It's still holding strong and is barely visible. Wish I'd used this to secure the heat mat to the glass, too, because the clear tape I used shows very easily through the glass, whereas this tape barely shows at all (see photo). My only negative remark is that trying to start a corner or edge to peel off the red backing strip is very difficult! I found it easiest to work at peeling a corner/edge while the tape is still on the roll, then folding a tiny flap of the red backing up as a tab. Then I peeled the tape up off the roll and measured, cut and adhered it. It worked much quicker that way.

VHB clear adhesive tape
Tape works great, VHB as expected. Pack was cut into the size that I ordered. Be careful with these as the bond is very strong and one must be aware of it. One can find it very hard to remove and also potentially damaging to the surface you are trying to rip these off of. As long as one is aware of that, these will hold and hold practically in all conditions, indoor and outdoor. I like these also because they are in pieces and are clear. On a glass surface you want clear so you don't see the adhesive as much compared to a grey or black one. Plus because of the high bonding strength, you really don't need a lot of these, it would be a waste, just a little is enough. In some cases where one might think a whole strip across would be needed, in fact at corners and maybe in the center is all one needs.I only wish that the cost was lower.

A different kind of sticky tape
This is more like a gummy gel. Think of the type of glue used inside of magazines to stick cards inside, that stretches. If you get any dust or dirt on this, it will reduce the adhesion, so make sure your surfaces are clean, dry, and free of debris. When you cut this, you'll find it hard to peel the backing off. Instead, pull the corner, and it will stretch. That will cause the backing to come lose, and you can peel the rest off. This needs to go on flat. If the corners will curl up due to odd shapes, trim the corners.Press the tape onto or into the surface. If the surface is not flat, either cut out the non-contact parts, or fill in the gaps for best effect. For instance, a plastic bracket for mounting a temperature sensor needed 4 layers, and then a 5th layer over the whole plate. Not ideal, but it was fine. For flat surfaces, make sure the edge of the tape is protected. If you pull the tape, it will stretch, and come lose, similart to Command hooks.Best adhesion happens over time. If you stick for 1 second and let go, then it will not adhere well. Push the parts together well, and give it a couple of seconds. If it's cold, that will affect adhesion too. The tape is soft, and needs to stick into any fine texture in the surface.Once it is stuck, it should stay. I could reposition it a few seconds later, but a few minutes later, it was much harder to unstick.Keep the unused portion in the bag to protect it from dust and contamination.

Worse product ever… really by 3M
It sucked. Seriously 3M should be ashamed. I purchased this to hold the plastic in my vehicle that it’s supposed to hold and it didn’t. Peeling the red backing off of the double sided tape was a hassle. Once you peeled it off if you were lucky enough to not get the tape taped to itself trying to get it to stick to what you needed it to stick was worse. Idk if this can even hold a balloon to a wall.
